Go To Lipsticks

I am a complete makeup hoarder. I have waaaay more than I could possibly ever need but it doesn’t stop me buying more. I have at least 100+ lipsticks, 20+ lip liners, 5+ eyeshadow palettes and a crap ton of everything else! Maybe I will give you a little tour of my collection someday? For now though, I want to share with you my ultimate Go To Lipsticks!

Body Collection – Luxe Lipstick in Caress

This is by far my favourite lipstick out of my entire collection and would you believe me if I told you it was only £1.50?! This beauty was purchased through Fragrance Direct a couple of months ago (I’ve checked and it’s still on there NOW!) for only £1.50 (RRP £2.99). I’m not sure where else you can buy this lipstick but if you find it, buy it! You won’t regret it. The Body Collection Luxe Lipstick is a beautiful nude shade that would compliment any makeup look. It’s lovely and creamy, and oddly smells quite nice. I’d give this lipstick a solid 10/10.

L’Oréal Paris – Infallible Mega Lip Gloss in 110 I Got The Power

Okay, so technically this isn’t a lipstick but a lip gloss but I don’t use this on top of a lipstick or base. It’s a lovely light nude shade and glides on effortlessly. I found I needed to top up a few times throughout the day but that’s okay. This lip gloss has an RRP of £6.99 so a little pricier than the Body Collection Luxe Lipstick. I’d give this lip gloss a good 6.5/10.

MAC – Lustre Lipstick in Hug Me

For me, this tops Velvet Teddy every single time! It’s so so sooo creamy and it is the perfect nude. I find that I’ll only need to top up once or twice throughout the day. Also, MAC lipsticks smell soooo yummy (or maybe that’s just a weird thing I enjoy). This is a whooping £17.50 through MAC Cosmetics but worth every penny. I’d say a decent 9/10 for Hug Me.

Bourjois – Rouge Velvet The Lipstick in 05 Brique-à-brac

Brique-à-brac is a beautiful reddish-brown shade that is super easy to apply. I found that I only needed to touch up my lipstick once throughout the day. This shade compliments all skin tones and would go perfect with a smokey eye look. I think this shade is also perfect for date nights. The price varies from shop to shop but it is usually around the £8.00 mark. I’d rate this Bourjois lipstick a good 8/10.

Sleek – Matte Me Liquid Lip in Birthday Suit

I was gifted this liquid lipstick not so long ago by a friend of mine and it’s turned out to be one of my favourites. Considering it is a liquid lipstick, it isn’t tacky and dries nicely. Birthday Suit is a lovely nude shade and is so easy to apply. I have the 3ml version but after having a snoop around, I’ve found they do a 6ml version for only £4.99! Bargain! Birthday Suit gets a 9.5/10 from me.

  1. I can’t believe the Body Collection one is only £1.50, what a bargain!! I’ve actually never owned a MAC lipstick but I remember trying out a matte one and it dried the hell out of my lips, I do really love some of their shades though especially the one you’ve included here – maybe I just need to try them with a balm underneath. I’ve got Sleek Birthday Suit as well and I absolutely love it, I wear it all the time! My go-to for lipsticks is Rimmel, I love their Kate Moss range x

  2. Love that you’re a makeup hoarder. Me too! Hahaha really liking the look of the Mac hug me! I’ve got a fair few Mac lipsticks but I didn’t spend a penny on them. I use a lot of other Mac items and through the years I’ve taken advantage of the back 2 Mac scheme and managed to collect Mac lipsticks that way 😃

  3. I love reading posts from fellow makeup junkies lol. I never knew that the Body Collection’s lipsticks were even on the radar, let alone really good, and for £1.50 it would be rude not to…
